The Criminal Investigation Department, which is still grappling to find persons involved in the double murder in Panjimogaru, have gone for lie detection, brain mapping and narcoanalysis tests on the members of the victims’ family.
Razia, wife of scrap merchant P. Hameed, and their 10-year-old daughter Fathima Zua were murdered in their house off the busy Panjimogaru Main Road on June 28, 2011. Following protests about delay in arresting the accused, the State Government transferred the case to the CID in April 2012. With the CID failing to make any significant progress, Hameed and Razia’s younger brother Mohammed Haneef made allegations against each other.
The Mangalore Third Judicial Magistrate First Class Undi Manjula Shivappa has granted permission for the CID to subject Hameed, his brother-in-law Mohammed Ali and Haneef to the tests.
