P.A. Rego passes away

Paul Alexander Rego, in-charge finance officer of Mangalore University, and a professor of economics, passed away at a private hospital here on Monday.

He was 58 and is survived by his wife and two children. The funeral rites would be performed at Our Lady of Dolours Church in Vitla on Tuesday. With over 30-years of teaching experience, his area of specialisation was in quantitative techniques in economic analysis, econometrics and agricultural economics.

He took over as in-charge finance officer on April 9, 2015.

Mr. Rego had guided five PhD research scholars and two MPhil candidates. He had published three books and 12 research papers.

Mr. Rego had completed one minor research project and was involved in major research projects sponsored by the UGC as co-investigator.

The funeral rites would be performed at Our Lady of Dolours Church in Vitla
