A 33-year-old nurse in a private hospital in Mangalore was found dead along with her six-year-old daughter in the well of her house in Melkar in Bantwal Town police station limits on Thursday morning.

According to police, Pratima, a native of Jaipur, had a tiff with her husband Naveen Kumar, an ex-serviceman who now works as a safety officer in a Mangalore firm. The fight concerned messages on her mobile phone. She later went to sleep with her daughter Diya.

Bodies of Pratima and Diya were found in the well. The police came to the spot and called the Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who brought the bodies out. The police said Pratima and Naveen Kumar were married for seven years.
