After exploring the coastal routes of Mangaluru during the first Karavali Brevet, Mangalore Cycling Club is taking riders on a scenic and magnificent route having rolling terrain along the Nethravathi and the Kumaradhara passing through villages, thick forests, paddy fields, arecanut plantations and touching the base of the Western Ghats at Kukke Subrahmanya, in the second edition of MACC Nethravathi 200-km Brevet, on April 24.
A release from the club here said that Brevets De Randonneur Mondiaux are rides of fixed distances that are to be completed within the specified time limits, having successfully passed through pre-determined time controls. The recognition is equal regardless of the finishing order. Each rider, who finishes the event within the cut-off time, is awarded with a certificate and a medal.
Moreover, the rider will get a step closer to becoming a Super Randonneure and an opportunity to take part in one of the oldest and most coveted cycling events in the world, the Paris Brevet, held in France once every four years.
Brevets De Randonneur Mondiaux worldwide are approved by Audax Club Parisien and governed by its rules and regulations.
The club, in association with Audax India Randonneurs, which is the sole authority for conducting and overseeing all Brevets De Randonneur Mondiaux and Audax events in India, is bringing these events to Mangaluru.
The club will provide a support vehicle as back-up and for any emergencies.
