The festival of Id-ul-Adha or Id-al-Zua was celebrated with traditional fervour in Udupi district here on Wednesday.

Tens of thousands of Muslims offered prayers and greeted one another on the occasion.

The Id-ul-Adah is celebrated to commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God.
