After nearly seven months, the board of the Mangalore Urban Development authority met on Saturday. However, with four members not yet nominated by the newly-elected Congress government – and so, Deputy Commissioner N. Prakash remains the temporary head – the board is still incomplete.
MLA J.R. Lobo, who attended the meeting, said long-pending approvals for site sanctions and other individual licences were sorted out in the meeting.
When asked when the other members of the body will be nominated and a chairman elected, the MLA said: “It will take time. Until then, the body will continue to ensure people are not affected.”
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Prakash, and attended by officials from PWD, Mescom, Mangalore City Corporation, Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Board, and MLA B.A. Mohiuddin Bawa, MLC Ganesh Karnik among others.
