SECURING FUTURE: Nearly 150 companies have set up stalls at the job fair inMoodbidri on Saturday.

The two-day job fair that began at Moodbidri on Saturday attracted large number of youths from different parts of the State.

Nearly 150 companies are offering jobs in sector such as mechanical, civil, IT/ ITeS, BPO, management, sales and retail, hospitals, medical and paramedical in the fair, organised by the Alava’s Education Foundation.

A press release said a record-breaking 10,363 students registered on the first day itself. Companies offered more than 7,000 openings, it said. Some of the companies at the fair are Titan, Videocon, Fabtech, Aditya Birla Group, UAE Exchange, Coca-Cola, 24x7, Sutherland, ITC, IBM, Fortis, L&T, Taj Group, ICICI Bank, TVS, Suzlon, Mphasis, TAFE, Axis Bank, Xchanging, Aegis, Capgemini, the release said.

More companies and youths are expected to join on the last day on Sunday. Sudhir Shetty, COO Global Operations, UAE Exchange, inaugurated the job fair.
