Those seeking a successor to the Moorusavir Math will have to wait for some more time as the local court hearing the case has dismissed the plea to vacate the stay order issued on the appointment of the successor.
On Tuesday, Principal Civil Court (Junior Division) Judge Preeti Sadarjoshi, dismissed the Interlocutory Application (I.A. No. 4) through which the counsels of Moorusavir Math had sought to vacate the stay order.
Advocate S.N. Patil who had filed suit for injunction on behalf of the devotees, told The Hindu that now the temporary injunction issued on the appointment of the successor would stay till the completion of the hearing on the case with the dismissal of the I.A. No. 4.
The dismissal of the I.A. of the Moorsavir Math is being seen as a set-back to the efforts of followers of Sri Dingaleshwar Swami of Balehosur to get the Swami appointed as the successor of Moorusavir Math. The Incumbent seer of Moorusavir Math Sri Gurusiddha Rajayogindra Swami, who had earlier decided to abdicate the ‘peetha’, changed his decision subsequently on the insistence of the devotees.
