Minister assures continuation of subsidy for urea plants

Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Ananth Kumar has reportedly assured the joint action committee of three naphtha-based urea manufacturing units in South India to continue the subsidy forurea production beyond 100 days from January 7. A delegation of the committee met the Minister in Bengaluru to thank him for restarting the urea production, which had been stopped since October.

K.N. Suryanarayana, president of MCF Mangala Workers Union, said that they had conveyed to the Minister the concern of employees about the future the breather given by the central government.
