Medical emergency: Flight diverted

An Air India Express flight from Mangaluru to Damam was diverted to Mumbai due to a medical emergency on Monday.

Flight IX 885 had taken off from the airport here at 6.40 p.m., an Air India official said.

After taking off, a 22-year-old male passenger complained of stomach pain. Initially it appeared to be kidney stone pain. Hence, the flight was diverted to Mumbai. The passenger was shifted to a hospital in Mumbai. Later the flight took off to Damam, the official said.
