Manipal University will organise its literature festival – Manipal International Literature and Arts Platform (MILAP) – from September 15. This will be the inaugural edition of the Lit Fest.
Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Neeta Inamdar, Chief Convenor of MILAP, said it would be a platform for a gathering and celebration of the arts in a university setting, imbued with an inclusive atmosphere and a cosmopolitan spirit.
The fest will bring writers, critics and readers together. It will be a non-commercial event. Efforts to promote appreciation of literature and culture through plays; classical music; lecture by Anuradha Kuber; Tala Maddale by M.L. Samaga; Bharatanatyam performance with a lecture by Ananda Jayant Shankar; and a contemporary dance choreographed by Diya Naidu, will be organised.
Nikhil Govind, Head, Manipal Centre for Philosophy and Humanities, was present.
