“Manipal has always been a pioneer in different streams of education and research, and it continues to do so in the case of social sciences as well”, said K. Ramnarayan, Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University, here on Tuesday.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of the induction programme of the second batch of students for Masters in European Studies and Management (MESM) offered by Manipal Centre for European Studies (MCES), and to Masters in Geopolitics and International Relations (MS G&IR) offered by the Department of Geopolitics and International Relations.
Mr. Ramnarayan said both these niche courses had immense potential and were in line with Manipal University's track record of launching innovative and path-breaking courses across all disciplines. Eleven students each from MESM and MS G&IR were introduced to the gathering on this occasion.
Director of T.A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) Vasudeva Rao provided an overview on the current economic situation across the world and the role of young managers in challenging times. N.T. Bhat, professor in English and German, who has been teaching German for several years in Manipal University, was felicitated by the Vice-Chancellor on the occasion.
