Man found dead in Karangalpady

A 40-year-old man, who was semi-nude, was found dead on a lane behind a travel firm in Karangalpady on Friday.

The Mangaluru East Police said the person did not have any external injuries.

There was a liquid like substance on the abdominal part that was exposed.

Preliminary investigation did not reveal to forensic experts any clues leading to the death of the man.

The police are waiting for the autopsy report. They are questioning persons staying in the buildings on the lane about the person.

Complaints lodged

Two groups of college students have lodged complaints of assault against each other in Kasba Village in Bantwal Town Police Station limits on Thursday.

Sufaid, Mohammed Sadak, Mobin, Nishaf, Nawaf and Abubakkar Siddiq, all 20-year-olds from Thumbe, have accused Chetan, Deepak, Tharanath, Ashwath, Abhish and Akash of assault when they were returning from college.

Pranam, a friend of Chetan, has lodged a counter complaint accusing Sufaid and his friends of abusing him (Pranam) and assaulting him.
