Mangalore: A 21-year-old Malaysian student has alleged sexual harassment from a co-passenger during a flight from Bangalore to Mangalore on Tuesday morning.

According to the Bajpe police, the woman, who is a final-year dental sciences student in the city, complained of “undue advances” from Ankit Agarwal Kumar (36), during the 7 a.m. Jetconnect flight from Bangalore.

On landing around 8 a.m. in the city, she informed the Airport security staff, who called the Bajpe police. Kumar, who had taken a cab, while the complaint was being heard, was asked to return, and after questioning, has been arrested. Kumar is a sales manager at Manipal in the neighbouring Udupi district, said the police.

The police have booked him under IPC 354 (assault or use of criminal force with the intent to outrage the modesty of woman).

Jet airways refused to comment on the case.
