According to Assistant Conservator of Forests V. Kishore Kumar, the department had received complaint about loss of cattle and hen because of the leopard that stole into farms in the village. A week ago they laid a trap in the farm of Madhava, a local resident, which the wild cat frequently visited.

On Thursday morning the leopard was found inside the trap. Mr. Kumar said the leopard was found to be healthy and had been moved to the Kudremukh Wildlife Sanctuary area.
