KSRTC revises bus fares

A bus journey by the Rajahamsa service of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) from here to Bangalore will now cost Rs. 379, up from Rs. 366. The fare in Express buses will be Rs. 224, instead of Rs. 216 and in Airavat (Volvo) Rs. 495, instead of Rs. 475.

The new rates came into effect from Friday midnight. According to Divisional Traffic Officer M.B. Jaishanth, the fares have gone up by about 3.5 per cent on an average.

Fares for various destinations in Volvo buses are as follows (previous fares in brackets): Mysore Rs. 350 (Rs. 330), Belgaum Rs. 545 (Rs. 525), Hubli Rs. 470 (Rs. 450), Hyderabad Rs. 1,070 (Rs. 1,050), Mumbai Rs. 1,020 (Rs. 1,000), Pune Rs. 970 (Rs. 950), and Ernakulam Rs. 490 (Rs. 470).

Fares in Express and Rajahamsa buses for some of the destinations are: Mysore Rs. 164 (Rs. 158) and Rs. 278 (Rs. 268); Belgaum Rs. 303 (Rs. 293) and Rs. 514 (Rs. 495); and Hubli Rs. 244 (Rs. 235) and Rs. 413 (Rs. 398).

The Puttur-Bangalore and Dharmasthala-Bangalore journey by Express bus will cost Rs. 204 (Rs. 197) and Rajahamsa Rs. 346 (Rs. 333). In the case of Kundapur-Bangalore route, the journey by Express bus will cost Rs. 284 (Rs. 274). In the case of journey by Rajahamsa on this route will cost Rs. 395 (Rs. 380) and towards Kundapur Rs. 430 (Rs. 415).
