Krishna photography contest results announced

The results of the Krishna Vesha Photography and Videography competition 2010 were announced here on Friday, with four of the winners being from the media. The competition, which was conducted annually by the Kalkura Pratishtana, involves giving away prizes to the best photographs of children taken during the Krishna Vesha competition organised by the Pratishtana. President of the pratishtana Pradeep Kumar Kalkura said that for the first time last year, videography was included.

Sudhakar Yermal, photojournalist of a Kannada daily, won the first prize, Dharanesh Konaje won second prize, and Reshma came third. Photojournalist G.K. Hegde, Sampath Kumar from MRPL Township in Kuthethoor, and Apul Ira from Kinnimajalu won the consolation prizes.

In the videography section, where a 10-minute video clippings had to be submitted, Wilfred D'Souza won the first prize, Shivaprasad won the second prize, and Pranna Poojary won the third prize.

The judges for the competition were artistes Ramesh Rao from Udupi, Ganesh Somayaji, and senior professional photographer Yajna.

A total of 140 entries were received for the photography section and six for videography.
