KPSC exam in city on Sunday

The Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) has, for the first time, selected Mangaluru as one among the centres for its preliminary examination to select candidates for the posts of gazetted probationary officers.

The examination will be conducted on August 20.

Earlier, candidates from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi had to go to Shivamogga, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Belagavi or Kalaburagi for the examination.

The examination will be conducted on Sunday in 12 centres in the city. As many as 6,084 candidates have selected the Mangaluru centre.

The exam would be conducted in the forenoon and afternoon, a press release said.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Kumar held a meeting here on Monday to review the preparations for the examination.

He said that candidates would have to be present in the centres at 9.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. They cannot carry mobile phones or digital watches with them. They should take with them an identity card such as Aadhaar, with a photocopy.

Group A officials have been appointed as observers and Group B officials would be the route officials.
