Minister of State for Labour P.T. Parameshwara Naik on Monday said the labour welfare board would provide quality education to the kids of construction workers in state, starting with those residing in city corporation limits, from the coming academic year.
For this, two options are being examined: directly admitting the children to well-known residential schools and paying their fee or creating infrastructure for such schools and roping in private institutions for imparting education. A final decision would be taken soon, he said.
Mr. Naik was speaking to presspersons after his visit to district Congress office and later a review meeting of the department here.
He said the Chief Minister is likely to announce multi-trade education in ITIs in the state in the coming budget. Students can study more than one related trade under this new system to enhance their employability, the Minister said.
