Karnataka Bank on Tuesday launched a public campaign against the use of tobacco, in association with a FM Radio channel as part of its CSR initiatives.

The objective of the campaign was to create awareness among the public about the ill-effects of the use of tobacco and allied products and to realise the dream of having a tobacco-free society, said a release from the bank.

The FM radio will spread the message not only through its channel but also through a special vehicle that will move in and around Mangaluru to reach out to the maximum number of people.

The campaign will run for a week simultaneously in Mangaluru, Kalaburagi and Mysuru.

Bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer P. Jayarama Bhat flagged off the campaign at the bank’s head office.
