Karat visits parents of rape and murder victim

Expressing disbelief that the State government has not yet ordered a CBI probe into the rape and murder of a 17-year-old girl near Dharmasthala a year ago, Prakash Karat, General Secretary of the CPI(M), said he would follow up with the Centre to press the State for a fair investigation.

Visiting the parents of the victims in Ujire on Sunday, Mr. Karat said that with State investigations going nowhere, a central probe was needed.
