Kalladka unrest: 5 held

A total of five persons have been arrested on Saturday in two cases relating to the violence in Kalladka town recently. Meanwhile, the district administration has removed prohibitory orders in the town after it lapsed on Saturday. Bantwal Town Police said while Siddique and Haris were arrested for allegedly assaulting Amit; the complainant was also arrested along with Pushparaj and Rajesh for allegedly damaging property by throwing stones. Police, however, did not confirm if they were from an organisation.

Around 9 p.m. on Thursday, a person was allegedly beaten up by three persons near Sri Rama High School there. This led to incidents of stone and bottle throwing that left six persons injured.
