'Kaiga Bird Marathon-2013' on January 12

Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL), Kaiga Generating Station, will organise the “Kaiga Bird Marathon – 2013” on January 12.

According to a press release issued here, the marathon would be held under the aegis of the Environment Stewardship Programme of NPCIL.

The bird survey would cover the areas surrounding Kaiga in Uttara Kannada district.

The bird surveys conducted during the last two years had been hugely successful with more than 50 birders and experts from throughout Karnataka participating in it. The second bird marathon held in 2012 increased the bird count from 142, counted in 2011, to 153 , the release said.
