JD(S) workers stage ‘silent' protest

Janata Dal (Secular) activists on Saturday organised a “silent” protest in support of the fast launched by the former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy in Bangalore.

Mr. Kumaraswamy is demanding a probe into the allegation made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that he helped his family members to amass wealth of Rs. 1,500 crore through illegal means.

The “silent” protest was organised in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Among those who participated in the protest included Janata Dal (Secular) State secretary and spokesperson M.G. Hegde, the former Minister Amarnath Shetty, and leaders Shashiraj Shetty, and Aziz Kudroli.
