Two supervisors have been arrested in connection with the blast on May 27 at the site of Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited in which three persons were killed.
The Bajpe police gave the names of the arrested as Narayan (27), supervisor, and Pramod, site supervisor, of the joint venture company of South Korea Engineering and Construction and Karam Chand Thapar (SKEC and KCT) that is executing the ISPRL's project.
ISPRL is building an underground cavern at Kuluru near Mangalore for strategic storage of crude oil for supply during emergencies. Seung Gon Song, safety officer from South Korea, Sirajuddin Katipalla, and Susharam Chauhan, worker from Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh, were killed in the blast.
The police said Narayan and Pramod were at the site when then the blast took place.
They had been accused of negligence that led to the blast on May 27.
They were produced before the local magistrate, the police said.
Documents sought
The police have sought more documents regarding the project from ISPRL and SKEC-KCT.
The Regional Labour Commissioner (Central) from the Union Labour Ministry is expected to visit the site on Thursday and conduct an inquiry into the blast.
