Eight injured in road accident in Mangaluru

Eight persons were injured when a truck rammed a private city bus in Kulai on the Udupi-Mangaluru stretch of the national highway on Friday. The accident happened near Surathkal around 7 a.m. According to eyewitness accounts, the bus and the truck were moving towards Mangaluru. The bus, which was on the Kateel- Mangaluru route, was ahead. The truck hit the bus when the bus stopped to pick up passengers.

A few bus passengers and the cleaner of the truck are among the injured and have been shifted to private hospitals nearby. The police had to use a crane to remove the damaged bus.
