Heavy rainfall with hailstones for over half an hour brought down the temperature in Hubli on Friday.

With the Friday showers accompanied by strong winds there was a dip in the day temperature. But, the rain and the wind brought down branches of several trees. Hoardings were damaged. As the roads were clogged following heavy rain, traffic movement was also affected.

In some low-lying areas in Old Hubli, rainwater entered a few houses and gushed into the cellars of commercial complexes. While in some areas of Hubli it rained heavily, on the outskirts it was merely a drizzle. It was a similar case in Dharwad where it was only strong winds and a drizzle. Meanwhile some places in Haveri and Gadag district recorded moderate rainfall on Friday.
