Gurupura tense after vehicle transporting cattle blocked

The situation in Gurupura Kaikamba on the outskirts of Mangalore was tense for a while following heated exchange between two groups after a vehicle transporting cattle was stopped Saturday night.

The Bajpe police as they were waiting to stop the vehicle near Bangalgudde, rightwing activists arrived at the spot and threw stones at the vehicle that carrying three heads of cattle. The driver left the vehicle and ran away. The activists assaulted a person. His supporters turned up and an argument ensued.
