Group clash leads to tension at Kalladka, Mangalore

Tension prevailed in Kalladka near Bantwal following a clash between two groups on Saturday evening.

According to Deputy Commissioner N.S. Channappa Gowda, some people threw stones at a van that was transporting cattle near Kalladka junction. There were three persons in the van which was proceeding to Mangalore from Puttur. The identity of the three persons in the van was not known, he said.

Mr. Gowda said the driver stopped the van when people started throwing stones at it. A clash broke out between the two groups soon. The police rushed to the spot and dispersed the groups. Three persons were injured and they were treated in a nearby hospital. The police seized the van, Mr. Gowda said. Superintendent of Police Abhishek Goyal visited the spot.
