The State government is seeking relaxation in coastal regulatory zone regulations to promote tourism, particularly on beaches of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada, said Deputy Commissioner N. Prakash.
Speaking at World Tourism Day celebrations here on Friday, Mr. Prakash said Higher Education and Tourism Minister R.V. Deshpande recently chaired a meeting of officials for promotion of tourism in three districts in which this was decided. The official said proposal was to seek relaxation for eight beaches in the district including Panambur, Tannirbavi, Someshwar, Ullal, Sasihitlu, Uchila and Surathkal.
