It is a wrong notion that there are no viewers for Tulu films, said Vijaykumar Kodialbail, a Tulu film director.
He was speaking at “Media Manthan”, a two-day national-level media fiesta that began at St. Alosyius College here on Monday. The event, with the theme “Celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema”, was organised by the Department of Mass Communication. Mr. Kodialbail said that if the right kind of film was made in Tulu, it would get viewers. The success of Oriyardori Asal bore testimony to that fact, he said. He said: “Watch (films) made in all languages but always watch Tulu films”.
Rohini K., District Information Officer, Department of Information, who was the chief guest, said that young people should use the opportunities they had as they would not get such opportunities when they pass out out of college. “The doors (of opportunity in media studies) are wide open, select what you want,” she said.
