Bharath Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) has imposed a penalty of Rs. 1.56 lakh on an LPG distributor in Mangaluru for deficiencies in service to consumers.
Revealing this at an LPG consumers meet in Ullal here on Friday, Deputy Director for Food and Civil Supplies, C.S. Sharanabasappa said that quality of service by all distributors was being watched.
He told The Hindu that consumers had complained about prolonged delay in supplies and poor customer relations. In-charge Assistant Director Sunanda said the distributor - Mangala Gas Distributor, Falnir Road - had also stocked refills near the office against rules and residents had complained about this. A report had been sent to BPCL through Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim.
