A pair of artery forceps used to arrest blood flow remained lodged in a woman’s body for four years. In a three-hour-long operation conducted on Monday, doctors removed the tool left behind in 2010 during a hysterectomy (uterus removal) at a private hospital in Kadri.
On Saturday, the 35-year-old woman filed a police complaint accusing two doctors at the Kadri hospital of negligence for leaving a pair of “scissors” in her body. The doctor who performed the operation said the forceps had damaged her intestine.
