For Kateel it’s a thanksgiving day

May 25, 2014 12:05 pm | Updated 12:05 pm IST - MANGALORE:

Amidst hundreds of Bharatiya Janata Party saffron shawl-wearing workers and the glare of a number of wayside onlookers, the recently elected Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha Member Nalin Kumar Kateel on Saturday, went around the city in an open jeep, thanking the people for giving him a spectacular victory.

In his brief address before commencing the victory procession near the Mahaveer Circle (Pumpwell) here, Mr. Kateel attributed his victory to the hard work of the cadres, as well as the Narendra Modi wave. He said he would work towards making the promises, made by him and the party, a reality.

He then boarded the open vehicle, flanked by party leaders. The procession, comprising several party workers, went through Fr. Muller Road, Jyothi and Bunts Hostel before culminating at the party office near PVS Junction. Party workers burst crackers along the procession route even as blaring music played via speakers mounted on a vehicle. The second-time Lok Sabha member Mr. Kateel emotionally waved at the onlookers, and exhibited the victory symbol. He was also garlanded by the supporters.
