July 06, 2010 05:48 pm | Updated 05:50 pm IST - MANGALORE:

Passengers of an Air India Express flight from Kuwait to Mangalore were put to inconvenience on Monday by inclement weather and the all-India bandh.

Chellam Prasad, Station Manager, Air India, Mangalore, said that the IX 390 Kuwait-Mangalore-Kozhikode flight was scheduled to arrive here at 7.25 a.m. but could not land because of inclement weather. Hence, it flew to Kozhikode where too it could not land for the same reason. Later, it was diverted to the Kochi airport. After some time, the flight took off from Kochi and landed at Kozhikode.

The Air India arranged a bus for the 79 Mangalore-bound passengers from Kozhikode. However, the bus could not leave till 6 p.m. because of the bandh,” Ms. Prasad said.

She said that other Air India flights were not affected.
