The Food and Civil Supplies Department on Thursday urged LPG consumers to enroll for the scheme for direct subsidy transfer immediately to continue availing subsidy on LPG refills.

The Department’s Assistant Director Chinnappa Gowda D. told an LPG consumer meet organised by Bharat Gas at Mannagudda here that people need not wait till the last date of March 31 to get refills and subsidy.

He cautioned that as per the rules, those who fail to register for the schemes will not be eligible to avail subsidy after March 31.

He pointed out that consumers will get subsidy advance of Rs. 568 soon after registration and subsidy amount would be credited directly to their bank accounts after every delivery of refill. The consumers will have to pay the market value to the delivery person as mentioned in the cash memo.

If there is any problem in transfer of benefit, the company and distributors would help the consumer in grievance redressal.
