‘Don’t label Congress councillors’

July 01, 2017 01:45 am | Updated 01:45 am IST - UDUPI

Udupi City Municipal Council (CMC) President Meenakshi Bannanje has objected to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) labelling the Congress municipal councillors in the CMC as “goondas”. In a press release issued here on Friday, Ms. Bannanje said that none of the 27 Congress councillors had any cases against them despite being in public service for years.

It would be better if the BJP checked the antecedents of its own councillors. Just because a person, Ronnie D’Mello, was pushed out of the Council meeting here on Thursday, all Congress councillors could be not termed ”goondas”.
