Dialysis unit donated

K. Raghupati Bhat, MLA, said on Monday that it was essential to reach health facilities to the poort.

He was speaking after inaugurating the kidney dialysis unit donated by Jamiyyatul Falah, a charity organisation, at the CSI Lombard Memorial Hospital here.

Mr. Bhat hoped that the dialysis centre opened at the hospital would benefit the poor people. Udupi district was known communal harmony. Even when there were communal problems in the neighbouring Dakshina Kannada district, it rarely entered Udupi district. The philanthropist, late Haji Abdulla, had exemplified the spirit of communal harmony in the district.

Secretary of the Udupi-Mangalore Zone of Jamiyyatul Falah Khaleel Ahmed said that Jamiyyatul Falah was planning to start a pre-university college for girls in Udupi. It was also planning to give zero-interest micro loans to poor people. Bishop of Church of South India (CSI) Karnataka Southern Diocese, J.S. Sadananda presided over the function. President of Udupi district unit of Jamiyyatul Falah P.B.A. Razak, and Head of the Department of Neurology at KMCRavindra Prabhu were present.
