Cyclists pay tribute to Armed Forces

Paying tributes to the Armed Forces, 40 riders of Mangalore Bicycle Club pedalled from Mangala Stadium to War Memorial in Kadri Hills here on Sunday covering 12 km.

Later, they laid flowers at the memorial paying respect to those soldiers who were martyred for their country.

The annual award ceremony of the club was also conducted on the occasion.

The Rolling Trophy of MBC 2017 went to the team, led by Madhukar and including Achinthya, Drushya, Joel Fernandes, Mithil, Ravish, Shawn, Subodh, Vishnuprasad and Vivek.

Certificates of appreciation for the longest kilometre rides were awarded to Dhanraj Karkera (1,200 km), Shivavand Rao (400 km), Shubhanand Rao (400 km), Srikantharaja (400 km) and Vinod Prabhu (400 km).

Special appreciation award was given to Kishan Bangera for riding 255 days and covering 18,000 km without a break this year.
