Cultural programmes added colour to the Republic Day function held at the Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium here on Saturday under the aegis of the district administration.

Students of St. Mary’s English Medium High School, Kanarpady, portrayed the theme of unity in diversity through various forms of dance in the country.

This was followed by an equally attractive performance “Namma Bharata, Namma Divya Bharata” by students of St. Francis Xavier School of Udyavara.

Students of the St. Cecily’s High School demonstrated aerobics, pyramids, and yogasana.

Earlier, government employees Ashok, Manjunath Shetty, Raghavendra B.S., and K. Shankar were felicitated.
