Speaker of the Legislative Assembly K.G. Bopaiah has hailed the contribution of youth towards building a modern and prosperous India.

He was speaking at the District Youth Convention here on Friday.

The convention was organised by the district administration, zilla panchayat, Department of Youth Services and Sports, Nehru Yuva Kendra, District Yuva Okkuta and its taluk units, according to a press release. Mr. Bopaiah urged the youth to emulate Swami Vivekananda.

Jayaprakash Narayan organised the youth when there was a political crisis in the country in the 1970s, Mr. Bopaiah said and called upon them to strive towards making India fully developed by 2020, as envisioned by former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
