The Congress has promised citizens of Mangalore that it would not increase house tax and water tariff if it came back to power in the Mangalore City Corporation council.

This is among the key points of party’s manifesto for the Corporation elections which will be released on Saturday. Congress’s in-charge for MCC election B. Janardhana Poojary said here on Thursday that party workers would highlight these points during the campaign.

Mr. Poojary said in the 15-year rule in the MCC Council the Congress had never increased the house tax and water charges. Soon after coming to power, the BJP increased house tax by 10 times.
