The Congress party government in the State will take action as per law against people involved in “moral policing” in Dakshina Kannada, said Kodijal Ibrahim, in-charge president of the district Congress committee, here on Monday.
Addressing presspersons, he said those resorting to “moral policing” had the indirect support of people in power and the government had taken tough action only in the ‘homestay’ attack case as there were widespread protests.
Allegation
The previous government had been led by a party that had encouraged corruption, a policy of discrimination and nepotism, he alleged. He expressed confidence that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would work for the downtrodden, farmers and the poor. He said the Chief Minister would implement all the promises made in the party’s manifesto.
Confidence
He said that while the party acknowledged the loss of its candidate in Sullia in the Assembly elections, the party is confident that it will be victorious in the Lok Sabha polls.
