Congress, BJP neck and neck in ZP elections

It will be an even battle between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the 25 seats of Udupi Zilla Panchayat, the elections for which will be held on December 31.

The Congress has been the ruling party in the Udupi Zilla Panchayat ever since the Udupi district was carved out of Dakshina Kannada in 1997.
