The BJP national joint spokesperson Sudesh Varma said here on Wednesday that the Congress government in the State had failed to control jihadi activism, especially in the coastal belt.

Addressing reporters, he said that the activists of the BJP and RSS have been killed in the coastal belt in broad daylight. “More than two dozen Hindu activists have been killed in the State during the Congress rule,” he said.

Mr. Varma said that the Congress did not focus on citizen-centric development.

He said that the BJP would project various programmes of the Union government during the campaigning. The programmes included Krishi Sinchayai Yojana, Fasal Bima Yojana, Mudra Yojana and Jan Dhan Yojana.

Mr. Varma said that the job creation promised by the BJP government at the Centre need not be only in the government sector. It included jobs in the private sector and creation of entrepreneurships through the government’s skill development programme.
