Suraksha Pramukh of Bajrang Dal’s Dakshina Kannada unit Puneet Kottari has filed a complaint against writer U.R. Anantamurthy before a city police station accusing him of hurting sentiments of Hindus with certain references in his book to some practices in Dakshina Kannada.

In his complaint before the Mangalore North police on Thursday, Mr. Kottari has referred to observations made by Mr. Ananthamurthy in his book “Bettale Pooje Yaake Maadabaaradu”. Mr. Kottari said Mr. Ananthamurthy terming ‘Kola’ of Panjurli Daiva as a theatrical act and his statement of urinating on a rock form of the Daiva had hurt the sentiments of Hindus of the region. The Mangalore North police have registered a case.
