The B.K. Somasekhara Commission of inquiry, which probed attacks on churches in Karnataka, on Monday submitted its interim report to the State government.
Somasekhara, who handed over the report to Additional Chief Secretary Abhijit Das Gupta here, however, refused to share his findings with reporters.
A series of attacks on churches in some parts of Karnataka in September 2008 had brought the first-ever BJP government in the South under pressure, prompting it to appoint the Commission.
Miscreants had attacked the Milgress Church and desecrated the Holy Eucharist meant for distribution among devotees, on September 14, 2008, triggering off a massive protest from members of the community. Police, who had resorted to lathi-charge against protesters, were accused of beating up even women and children.
Later, some more churches came under attack in the state, including Bangalore, with the Centre asking the State government to check them.
A central study team had also visited the affected areas.
The government had recently extended the term of the Somasekhara Commission till March 31.
