College teachers to protest

College teachers will march to Parliament on August 26 to press their demands including release of arrears of the revised University Grants Commission pay, A. James William, president, All-India Federation of University and College Teachers' Organisations (AIFUCTO), said on Sunday.

Addressing college teachers at a convention on higher education here on Sunday, he alleged that the government was doing injustice to teachers by delaying the arrears. But, he pointed out, the government had released arrears, due on the implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations, to its employees in two instalments.
