People are arriving at the Government Wenlock hospital in large numbers to identify the bodies of relatives and friends of those who died in the crash. Most bodies were charred beyond recognition making identification difficult. Twelve bodies have been taken to the mortuary while several others have been kept in two tents put up in the premises. As soon as an ambulance brings in bodies from the airport, crowds converge around it in anticipation of finding their loved ones. The other hospitals where the bodies are being taken are the KMC Hospital, SCS Hospital, Colaco Hospital and A.J. Hospital, all in Mangalore city.
Union Minister for Civil Aviation Praful Patel visited Wenlock Hospital as did the Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. Mr. Balakrishnan said the Kerala government would soon announce a compensation package for the families of those who died from Kerala.
