A car parked in the parking area at Mangalore International Airport caught fire at about 5 p.m. on Thursday. No one was injured in the incident and the fire fighters of the airport doused it immediately, according to the director of the airport J.T. Radhakrishna.

The director said that the car belonged to a visitor to the airport and it caught fire as soon as he got down after parking it. It was an old car. Probably it caught fire due to engine problem. The car was fully gutted. Others nearby removed their cars immediately. Hence, no one was injured and the fire did not spread.
